ABOUT THE GROUP
We are an open community for photographers of all levels based in and around Sheffield. We're sort of like a photography society but more fun. We're the friends you turn to when you want to head off to the coast at 6am to catch the sunrise or spend hours next to running water working on long exposures. I Just Wanna Tek Gud Photos is a group for people with a passion for photography who are looking for friends who share their enthusiasm.
Browse the Blog for plenty more interesting outings we've been on over the last few years.
SPECIAL ACCESS TOURS
Every now and again we manage to negotiate special access for our members to see things that the general public cannot usually take their cameras into.
So far in our short history we've witnessed a training session with the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue service, taken tours of the Henderson's Relish factory, attended a special 'invite only' launch event at the JCT600 Mercedes-Benz Sheffield dealership and had unrestricted access to both the South Yorkshire Fire & Police museum, the Mosque on Wolseley Road and the Sheffield Central Library.
Both the SYFR & Sheffield Library used some of our best photos for their website and promotional materials which was nice too!
Most of the tours have limited numbers so you will need to be quick to register your spot on a popular tour. Details will always go onto the forum first so do keep checking back for announcements.
We were also the official photographers for SlamFest 2013 in Rotherham!
We've held an exhibition too!
OUR ONLINE COMMUNITY
Whilst we are mainly a 'real world' group we keep in touch online too.
Our Forum is where we go to plan and suggest outings and occasionally ask each other a burning question.
MONTHLY SOCIAL MEETINGS
We meet every month on the Fourth Wednesday @ 19:30 in a private room in Harrison 1854 in Sheffield City Centre - all are welcome, cameras optional.
JOIN US, IT'S FREE!
We are an open community and welcome photographers of all skill levels so don't be put off if you don't feel you are up to scratch. Learning with others is often the best way to get to know your camera and develop your photography.
We don't charge a membership fee to join the community, all we ask is that when you join you contribute as much as you can, this community only exists because of the enthusiasm of its members.
